How can Google AdSense make you money?

Google AdSense is a free service offered by Google to publishers to monetize their web content. A publisher can be anyone with a blog, website, YouTube channel, or other licensed online property. AdSense has always been the most popular way to monetize content and the springboard for people to make money online.

The reason for AdSense's popularity is its ease of use and after the initial setup, all you have to do is sit back and watch the money flow into your account. Plus, they pay on time and you don't have to worry about falling victim to an online scam.

It's easy to get started with AdSense and you need a blog or YouTube channel to get approved for the AdSense account. Once you have an account, all you have to do is create ads (Easy process) and place the AdSense code on your blog using free plugins, and AdSense will automatically display ads. Now when a reader clicks on these ads, you will earn money from them. After that, your goal is to get traffic to your blog, and the more traffic you get, the more revenue you will generate.

A word of caution:

If you think it's so easy and you can ask your friends or family to click on the ads, please don't. Google AdSense is a quality ad network that is free to join, but it has maintained a high standard, and any such activity where a publisher asks to click on ads or use illegal methods to get more clicks will cost you a deactivated AdSense account. . Once your account is deactivated, it will be difficult to get an account back.

How much can you earn with AdSense and proof of income:

This is what beginners often ask and you can read this guide to understand how much you can earn. Some users earn thousands of dollars every day with AdSense. Since I can only offer my proof, here is a current screenshot of my AdSense earnings over the last six years: $41,854 (INR 27.5 Lakh)

Below I have given links to the best AdSense resources that could help you set up and manage your AdSense account, but first, let's help you get a web property which is a requirement before applying for an AdSense account.

Setting up your website to get an AdSense account:

To apply for an AdSense account, you need to have a web property. This could be a blog, a website, or anything else that is allowed by Google. Here, I list three places where you can create a web property in the next few minutes to get started. Depending on your level of understanding, you can start for free or put in some money if you already know how things work online.

Create a free blog on BlogSpot:

BlogSpot is a free blogging platform from Google and you can create your blog in the next few minutes (about 10 minutes). This is the best way for anyone who has never worked online and is trying to make money for the first time. Some important things to keep in mind:

  • DomainName: BlogSpot offers a domain name such as selectedname.blogspot.com. It is advisable to use a name that is easy to remember, type, and pronounce. Read: How to choose a name for your blog.

  • Niche: Start publishing articles on a particular topic. Whether it's finance, technology, fashion, or anything else. Make sure that each article you write should be over 400 words with images. Writing an article on BlogSpot or any other modern platform is quite simple. Here's how you select the niche for your blog.

  • Design: when you create your first blog on BlogSpot, you will use one of the templates offered by them. They are good, but you can always use a free third-party template to give your BlogSpot blog a more professional look. Here's a resource for a great free BlogSpot template you can use on your blog.

  • Pages: Posts are for writing articles and pages are for important pages like about, contact, etc. Be sure to create and add an About/Contact page from day one. Your about page will have a big impact on your blog's visibility and you can learn here why it is so crucial to have an about page.

Or create a WordPress blog (smart and professional way)

This one I recommend to those who have already worked online or have an idea of how things work. More than 22% of websites in the world are powered by WordPress and are considered the most respected blogging platform of all time.

The idea of having your hosting and domain name is exciting and seems difficult at first, but WordPress makes it easier for anyone with no experience to get started with their online blog. Read: How to buy a domain and hosting for a WordPress blog.

Create a YouTube channel and upload original videos:

This is another popular method used to get an approved AdSense account. Not everyone likes to write and many users like to create and record videos. If you are one of them, you should use this method to earn money with AdSense.

You need to create an account on YouTube, create a channel (it's free), and start uploading original videos that you have created. You can use your cell phone to record original watchable videos, or you can use video recording and editing tools like Camtasia to create screencast videos.

To give you an idea of what others are doing, housewives create videos about cooking, girls create videos about fashion, geeks create videos about gadgets, etc. The possibilities are endless and there is room for everyone.

Once your YouTube channel is up and running for a few days with a constant upload of videos (5-10 quality videos), you are most likely to make money from the uploaded videos. You can go to this link and request monetization. You can find more information about YouTube AdSense monetization here.

Web property checked - What's next?

Once you have followed one of the above methods, create a web property for yourself. It's time to apply for an AdSense account. The hardest part is getting an approved account and this can only be done if you are committed and seriously working on your website. Remember, this is not a get-rich-quick program and it requires patience and dedication. The joy part is that you will be paid handsomely for your dedication over time, which is why making money online is so lucrative.

Apply for AdSense:

The next step is to complete the AdSense application and wait for the approval. Here are guides/tutorials (open them one by one) that will help you get AdSense approval.

  1. How to create an AdSense account
  2. Google AdSense account approval process
  3. Adsense terms of use: things to follow and keep in mind (read this to understand what not to do)

Getting an account approved usually takes up to 7 days and in between if your application is rejected, don't be upset and try to find out what is missing on your blog. Google needs valuable editors and it's hard for a newbie to get it right.
